High Frequency Words
Math Concepts (not current information at this time)
Comparing and Measuring
Writing--Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose opinion pieces in which they tell the reader the topic they are writing about and state an opinion or preference about the topic (we would like them to give at least one reason) Example--"My favorite animal is a dog because they are cute and cuddly."
Color--BROWN
- Gg /g/
- Hard Gg-- "guh"--put your hand up on your throat and say "guh." If you can feel your throat jumping to your hand the word has a hard Gg sound
- Soft Gg-- "juh"--make a motion like you are jumping up and say "juh"
- Dd /d/--make a motion like you are drumming on your legs while saying "duh, duh, duh"
- Ss /s/--"sssss"--sounds like a snake hissing
- Ee /e/
- Short Ee--"eh"--hold your hand up to your ear, lean to the side and say "eh" like you are having trouble hearing
- Long Ee-"ee"--says its own name
High Frequency Words
- my--in a sing songy voice say "M-Y spells my"
- the--spell "the" and make motions like you are doing a Cha Cha line
- can
- and--bring your hands slowly together while spelling "and"
- we--motion your hands between yourself and someone else while saying "we"

- show greater than/less than and equal using objects
- compare numbers within 10
- measurable attributes (length, weight, height)

- lighter, heavier
- taller, shorter
- sort and count objects
- compare 2 objects using comparison language (this pumpkin is heavier than this block)
